ABOUT JULIE

Julie Vera was born on January 7th, 1995 with Sickle Cell Disease.

Many of Julie's favorite hobbies included playing soccer, going swimming and working. According to Julie's family members she was very persistent, hardworking, motivated, driven and passionate. "She goes through a challenge in life but she takes it head on" says her older cousin Omar.

If Julie could make one wish come true she said she would've asked for better health. However, with a risky cure or little awareness for SCD we were unable to accomplish that for her.

That's where the community comes into play. If you join along we can make a difference for anyone who suffers from Sickle Cell and change the way this disease affects him or her.

Sadly, Julie was taken from us because of Sickle Cell on December 22nd, 2015. Even through the pain that it caused all of her family and friends, she will always be in our hearts and will never have to suffer again.
